47 Attorneys Are Joining Polsinelli in Major Lateral Move, Expanding Several Key Practices and Launching Polsinelli’s Philadelphia Office

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to share more details about the group of attorneys that is joining the firm to establish its new Philadelphia office and expand key practices in other markets. In total, 47 attorneys are joining the firm, with practices ranging from employee benefits and executive compensation, employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), employment litigation, commercial and products liability litigation to mergers and acquisitions, financial services litigation, life sciences and real estate.

Notably, the move creates one of the premier executive compensation and ESOP practices in the country and significantly expands Polsinelli’s labor and employment practice and bench strength in different areas of litigation and its market strength in the Northeast and California. The group is deeply embedded in the life sciences, health care, energy and financial services sectors, complementing Polsinelli’s existing client and industry focus.

In Philadelphia, 24 attorneys are joining Polsinelli as shareholders, one as counsel and 10 as associates. An additional six shareholders are joining across Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and New York, along with six associates across Los Angeles, Denver and Dallas. In total, 30 attorneys are joining as shareholders, one as counsel and 16 as associates along with several administrative professionals across different locations.

The group is led by John D. Martini who, at his previous firm, served as executive partner of the office and practice group leader for Tax, Benefits & Executive Compensation, and will serve as office managing partner for Philadelphia at Polsinelli and as co-chair of Polsinelli’s Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice. Additionally, Thomas Yoo was named chair of the newly formed Life Sciences Products Liability Practice Group.

Martini is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA And focuses his practice on advising public companies, private equity firms and management teams in connection with all phases of the employment relationship, including executive compensation, corporate governance and employee benefits. Yoo is ranked nationwide by Chambers USA for Product Liability & Mass Torts, and his practice includes a variety of product liability matters and commercial disputes. He has been involved in some of the highest profile mass tort litigations in the country, including appointments to defense leadership roles in federal multidistrict litigations (MDL) and statewide coordinated proceedings.
