Attorney General Michelle Henry released the following statement regarding the death of a Philadelphia police officer late Tuesday night, who succumbed to his injuries after being shot during a traffic stop more than two months ago:

“Today, I join Pennsylvanians and the communities in Philadelphia in mourning the loss of a veteran police officer, who was struck in the neck during a traffic stop in the Kensington section of the city on June 22, 2024.

“I want to offer my sincerest condolences to the family, colleagues, and friends of Officer Jaime Roman, who was doing his duty keeping the community safe and was fired upon without provocation in a completely senseless manner.

“We wish for healing, resilience and peace for Officer Roman’s loved ones after enduring such a long period of uncertainty while he fought for his life in the hospital. May we stand together, humbled by his strength and sacrifice.”
