Fox Rothschild congratulates Gerald “Jerry” T. Hathaway, who was among the 2024 Distinguished Alumni award honorees bestowed by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
This coveted honor recognizes graduates, who through their career accomplishments and contributions to their profession and communities, “have exhibited outstanding leadership qualities and enhanced the reputation of the Law School.”
Hathaway is a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department and a Fellow of both the American Bar Association and the New York Bar Foundation.

Throughout his career, Hathaway has saved clients millions of dollars by identifying hidden labor risks. He helps employers assess the risks and benefits of using artificial intelligence and algorithms and decision-making in the workplace.**
Hathaway has been passionate about Pro bono projects throughout his career. For a number of years, he has served as pro bono labor and employment counsel for The Apollo Theater in Harlem and Black Theatre United. He also provides pro bono services for The Ali Forney Center and TakeRoot Justice.
A graduate in the class of 1979, Hathaway now serves on Pittsburgh School of Law’s Board of Visitors.
