A woman has filed a lawsuit alleging negligence after suffering severe injuries due to unsafe conditions on a property. Amber Morris initiated the complaint against Annette D'Angelo and others in the Court of Common Pleas, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, on December 14, 2004. The defendants are accused of failing to maintain safe premises.

The case centers around an incident that occurred on December 24, 2022, when Amber Morris sustained multiple injuries from slipping on ice formed by a leaking pipe at the properties located at 408 and 410 W. Ridge Road in Linwood, Pennsylvania. According to the complaint, Morris was a licensee at the location when she encountered "a dangerous and defective condition" caused by a broken or improperly positioned pipe that allowed water to pool and freeze on the sidewalk. The lawsuit names Annette D'Angelo as well as Billie Jean Adams and Michael Adams as defendants responsible for managing or owning the premises where the accident occurred.

Morris's attorneys argue that the defendants failed in their duty to maintain safe conditions by not addressing the hazardous icy sidewalk. They claim that this negligence led directly to Morris's injuries, which include closed head injury, scalp lacerations, facial contusion, back injury, and musculoskeletal injuries. The plaintiff further asserts that these injuries have resulted in significant pain and suffering, loss of earnings, impairment of earning capacity, and substantial medical expenses.

The complaint also identifies several John Doe defendants believed to be contractors or subcontractors responsible for maintaining the premises. These unidentified parties are alleged to have neglected their duties regarding snow and ice removal as well as plumbing maintenance.

Amber Morris seeks judgment against all named defendants for damages within arbitration limits plus interest and costs. She claims compensation for her physical injuries, emotional distress, medical expenses incurred thus far, potential future medical costs, lost wages due to her inability to work post-accident, and overall impairment of her quality of life.

Representing Amber Morris are attorneys Keith W. Kofsky and Frank Bizzari III from Clearfield & Kofsky law firm based in Philadelphia. The case is presided over by judges from the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware County under Case ID NO CV2024011119.
