Shayla Campitelli has filed a lawsuit against one of the largest retail corporations in the United States, alleging negligence that led to her sustaining significant injuries. The complaint was filed by Shayla Campitelli on January 7, 2025, in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Wal-Mart Stores East, Inc., Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
According to the complaint, Campitelli was shopping at a Wal-Mart store located at 233 Shoemaker Road in Pottstown, Pennsylvania on May 11, 2023. During her visit, she allegedly slipped and fell due to a hazardous condition on the floor. The plaintiff claims that this incident was solely caused by the negligence of Wal-Mart and its employees. The lawsuit details several allegations against Wal-Mart including failure to inspect and maintain safe premises, neglecting to warn customers about dangerous conditions, and inadequate employee training regarding safety policies.
Campitelli asserts that as a result of the fall, she suffered multiple physical injuries including damage to her right knee, left ankle, pelvis, nerves, and nervous system. These injuries have reportedly caused her ongoing pain and suffering and have impacted her ability to perform daily activities. Additionally, Campitelli alleges that these injuries may lead to permanent limitations affecting her quality of life.
The plaintiff is seeking damages not exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses incurred from treating her injuries as well as compensation for lost wages due to her inability to work following the incident. She also seeks relief for any future loss of earnings capacity resulting from what she believes are permanent injuries.
Representing Shayla Campitelli is attorney Gerald B. Baldino II from Sacchetta & Baldino law firm. The case is filed under Case ID NO: CV2025000129.
