Global law firm Reed Smith announced today that a cross-office mergers and acquisitions team led by Reed Smith partners Mark Pedretti and Seth Merl advised Elevate Services, a leading provider of software, consulting, and services for law, in its acquisition of India-based intellectual property research company Sagacious IP.
Sagacious serves law department and law firm customers worldwide, including Fortune 500 companies and IAM1000-listed firms, in the US, Europe, China, Japan and beyond.
The acquisition of Sagacious marks an important strategic expansion of Elevate’s global platform, representing the largest and most-complex cross-border add-on for Elevate to date. The transaction follows close on the heels of Reed Smith’s representation of Elevate in the strategic acquisition of US-based Redgrave Data.
In addition to Pedretti and Merl, both of whom are based in New York, the team also included the following lawyers:
New York: corporate partners Simon Kliegman, Peter Emmi, and Michael S. Lee; labor and employment partner Mark Goldstein; corporate associates Russell Schneider
Miami: corporate associate Justin Hunter
Pittsburgh: corporate partner Allison Sizemore and Matthew Mohn and associate Sara O’Toole Loevner
Singapore: energy and natural resources partner Timothy Cooke
