Thomson Reuters Recognizes Eckert Seamans Attorneys as 2025 Stand-out Lawyers

Five attorneys with national law firm Eckert Seamans have been named among the Stand-out Lawyers of 2025 by Thomson Reuters. Lawyers named to the list are nominated independently by senior in-house counsel during interviews through Thomson Reuters’ Sharplegal study. The honor highlights attorneys with an exceptional dedication to client satisfaction and advocacy.

Scott Cessar serves as Chief Executive Officer of Eckert Seamans, where he maintains an active litigation and counseling practice representing several publicly traded companies and numerous privately held companies in litigation across the country. He handles all types of construction related issues on behalf of owners, contractors, equipment suppliers, and sureties.

Dorothy (Dot) Davis serves as Chair of the firm’s Board of Directors and Financial Services Litigation practice. She concentrates her practice on commercial, business, and real estate transactions and litigation in both individual cases and class actions.

Frank Emmerich serves as Co-Member-In-Charge of Eckert Seamans’ Philadelphia office and Co-Chair of the Commercial Litigation practice. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, specifically in matters involving trade secrets and unfair competition, restrictive covenants, and intellectual property. 

Jonathan Hugg is a Philadelphia-based Member, where he focuses his practice on commercial and appellate litigation, with an emphasis on financial institution, real estate, regulatory enforcement, and municipal matters.

Adam Shienvold serves as Chair of Eckert Seamans’ Product Liability practice group. He focuses his practice on civil litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on commercial and business litigation; regulatory, administrative, and municipal litigation; product liability litigation, and personal injury defense.
