Reed Smith is pleased to announce the selection of Jillian Burstein, a Chicago-based intellectual property partner, as the firm’s Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow for 2025. In addition, Esther Kim, a Philadelphia-based senior associate in the Insurance Recovery Group, and Edward Fultz, a Washington, D.C.-based associate in the Entertainment and Media Industry Group, were named as the firm’s 2025 LCLD Pathfinders.

The LCLD Fellowship Program is a rigorous, yearlong professional development initiative aimed at mentoring the legal industry’s future leaders. Designed for lawyers from all backgrounds with eight to 15 years of experience, the program connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel and managing partners. The LCLD Pathfinders Program provides training on professional networks, leadership skills and career development to equip lawyers with three to seven years of experience.

Burstein routinely advises clients on a broad range of IP issues, including trademarks, trade dress, copyright, false advertising and unfair competition. Burstein is a creative and strategic problem solver skilled at tackling complex legal and business issues in the fields of intellectual property and commercial litigation on a global scale.

Kim serves well-known clients in the banking, financial, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, transportation and energy sectors, as well as religious institutions and small- and medium-sized businesses, in disputes with insurance companies.

Fultz’s practice includes all aspects of advertising, promotions and brand protections, the monetization of brands and talent, reviewing consumer law practices, and the regulatory review of promotional activities such as sweepstakes, contests, disclaimers and offers.

Reed Smith is among the original co-founders of the LCLD, which comprises more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners. Additional information about the LCLD and its Fellow and Pathfinders programs can be found on the LCLD website.
