Pittsburgh-based Reed Smith partner Michelle Mantine has been honored with the Woman of the Year award from the Women’s Law Association at Duquesne University’s Kline School of Law.

The award was announced at a reception held at the Kline School of Law on March 18. This annual award is given to an alumna who promotes gender equality, gives back to the community, demonstrates professionalism and leadership, and raises awareness about issues affecting women.

Mantine is global chair of the antitrust and competition practice at Reed Smith. She helps clients solve antitrust issues they may be facing during an investigation, as part of litigation, in a transaction, and throughout their day-to-day business dealings.

Alongside leading the practice, Mantine also serves as the global chair of the Women’s Initiative Network of Reed Smith, which promotes and fosters the retention, advancement and recruitment of women lawyers at the firm. She has received a number of awards in recognition of her work to advance mentoring and the empowerment of women in law.

Mantine commented: “I am honored and humbled to receive the Woman of the Year award. It is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of many wonderful lawyers, role models, community leaders and colleagues who have been named Women of the Year. I cannot thank the Kline School of Law enough for providing me with an amazing foundation from which to develop a broad and rewarding legal career. I am committed to paying that forward and inspiring others to do the same.”
