Renowned publisher The Legal Intelligencer has named Reed Smith and several of its lawyers and innovation leaders as finalists in six categories of its 2025 Pennsylvania Legal Awards. In addition, the publication named Pittsburgh partner Christopher Brennan among the state’s large firm Fast Trackers. The publication annually honors lawyers and firms shaping the legal landscape in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Reed Smith is a finalist in three categories: Law Firm of the Year, General Litigation Department of the Year, and Insurance Litigation Department of the Year. Courtney Horrigan is a finalist in the Best Law Firm Mentors category; Madeline A. Boyer, Ph.D., is a finalist in the Law Firm Innovators category; and Pearl Dzifa Mansu is a finalist for Most Promising Newcomers.
In the Litigation Department of the Year, General Litigation category, the firm’s Pennsylvania attorneys were recognized for significant wins in complex commercial litigation, class actions, MDLs, appeals and arbitration involving energy and natural resources, insurance, real estate, financial services, antitrust and bankruptcy.
In the Litigation Department of the Year, Insurance category, Reed Smith’s Pittsburgh and Philadelphia attorneys were recognized for their representation of Samsung Austin Semiconductor; Purdue Pharmacy; Federated Hermes; Santander Holdings USA; Perrigo Company; the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Center New York; and J.M. Smith Corporation across a broad range of significant policyholder coverage matters.
Brennan was selected as a Fast Tracker for his victories in high-stakes cases in antitrust and competition law, including a defense verdict for Philips Healthcare on monopolization and novel applications of IP law to mainline banks and emerging fintech data aggregators.
Horrigan, a partner in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, was selected as a Best Law Firm Mentors finalist for her dedication to supporting young attorneys in Reed Smith’s Insurance Recovery practice and for her advocacy on behalf of the firm’s and profession’s next generation.
Boyer, director of Reed Smith’s Innovation Lab, earned recognition for leading the Lab’s evolution to services both as a business consulting unit and testing ground for discovering, incubating and accelerating creative ideas at Reed Smith and alongside its clients.
Mansu, a third-year associate in the firm’s global disputes and labor & employment groups, was recognized for her accomplishments across a broad range of litigation skills and diverse disputes, including mass torts, employment matters, capital offenses, products liability, civil rights and government contracts.
