Holland & Knight continues to strengthen its Philadelphia Litigation Practice Group with the addition of Siana Danch as senior counsel. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, she was an associate at Ballard Spahr in Philadelphia and clerked for the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C.
"We're thrilled to welcome Siana to the Firm's Philadelphia office. Her extensive experience in federal tax controversy, white collar defense and regulatory compliance will be key as we continue to see high demand in those areas," said John Grugan, Holland & Knight's Philadelphia Litigation Practice Group Leader. "Siana's proven ability to handle complex cases and her strong connections within the tax litigation community will greatly benefit our clients and the Firm."
Ms. Danch's arrival in the Philadelphia office adds another litigation practitioner in the tax controversy and white collar defense fields after Peter Hardy joined the Firm in February. Mr. Hardy is a partner and leading anti-money laundering and tax controversy attorney.
Ms. Danch focuses her practice on federal tax controversy, regulatory enforcement, internal investigations and white collar defense. She has extensive experience defending clients before the IRS and U.S. Department of Justice in matters involving criminal and civil tax fraud, assessment and collection actions. Ms. Danch has handled a variety of federal trial and appellate court matters and has also assisted clients in responding to federal and state civil and criminal investigations and regulatory audits and examinations involving tax and money-laundering issues.
Additionally, Ms. Danch advises financial institutions and other businesses on anti-money laundering and Office of Foreign Assets Control regulatory compliance and emerging trends, including cryptocurrency regulation and the Corporate Transparency Act. She also assists clients with investigations arising under the Bank Secrecy Act.
"I'm excited to join Holland & Knight and leverage my experience to support the Philadelphia office and its growth," said Ms. Danch. "I'm already impressed with the office's supportive and collegial culture, as well as its commitment to the city and community service."
Ms. Danch earned LL.M. and J.D. degrees from the University of Washington School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Washington. She is admitted to practice law in Washington State and Pennsylvania.
