Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced that Erie County has been officially designated as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) by the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy. PITTSBURGH – A federal court lawsuit from a non-denominational religious group contends that a Pennsylvania state law has been used by state officials to declare that it may not solemnize legal marriages in the Commonwealth.
PHILADELPHIA – A federal judge has ruled that a woman who claimed she fell on a sidewalk outside the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, did not conclusively prove that the government was responsible for the area.
SCRANTON – The Borough of Dalton is attempting to strike a $5.7 million judgment declared in favor of a local property owner – who claimed it committed ongoing misconduct and trespass in its refusal to provide catch basins for 21 years, which has caused her property to suffer tremendous flooding.
