Man cites in fall over metal pipe

A Conshohocken man has sued a hotel business, alleging negligence.

Matthew Bennett filed a lawsuit April 23 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., alleging negligence in a 2013 personal injury.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 25, 2013, Bennett suffered injuries resulting from dangerous and/or defective conditions from an exposed metal pipe on the defendant’s property, the W Hotel, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. Bennett alleges he fell on the pipe on a pool deck, sustaining severe and permanent injuries.

The plaintiff cites physical pain, anxiety, mental anguish and nervous shock, loss of ability to attend to everyday functions, medical expenses.

Bennett seeks compensatory damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Michael Pansini of Pansini & Mezrow of Philadelphia.
