PHILADELPHIA – A negligence lawsuit related to a 2013 motor vehicle accident had a hearing in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas this week on discovery motions related to venue.
According to court records, a hearing took place Monday at Philadelphia City Hall on where the case will be properly heard – since the motor vehicle accident in question took place in Conshohocken, located in Montgomery County.
A lawsuit filed by Starr Hansell of Conshohocken claimed on Feb. 10, 2013, she was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Butler Pike & Ridge Pike, allegedly caused by Katrina Anaya of Plymouth Meeting. Per the litigation, it is claimed Anaya’s negligent operation of her 2003 Jeep Liberty caused the rear-end collision with Hansell’s vehicle.
Hansell’s lawsuit alleges Anaya sped and tailgated in her vehicle prior to the accident.
Hansell suffered disc injuries, nerve damage requiring injection therapy and musculoskeletal injuries, physical/mental impairment, mental anguish, humiliation.
According to her lawsuit, these injuries led her to incur large medical bills. The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of arbitration limits, plus interest and court costs and property damage/rental reimbursement.
The plaintiff is represented by Keith W. Kofsky and Frank Bizzari III of Clearfield & Kofsky, in Philadelphia.
The defendant is represented by Katherine Frechette of Bennett Bricklin & Saltzburg, in Blue Bell.
