A city woman is suing the owner of the Gallery at Market East shopping plaza for injuries she suffered after falling and injuring herself at the business.
In her lawsuit, filed May 11 at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas by attorney Leonard K. Hill of Hill & Associates, Philadelphia resident Gloria Brogen-Dahar alleges that she sustained “serious and permanent injuries” after tripping on a rug Jan. 7, 2011 at the business, located at 10th and Market streets.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiff accuses the shopping plaza’s owner and operator, the Gallery, of failing to properly inspect and maintain the premises, failing to warn the public of dangerous conditions that existed and allowing a dangerous and hazardous condition to persist.
The complaint says that Brogen-Dahar has had to expend various sums of money on medical attention for injuries to her head, arms and legs.
The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000.
The plaintiff has demanded a jury trial.
The case number is 110501242.
