PHILADELPHIA - A Reading bakery company is suing a manufacturing company, alleging an improperly designed conveyor system and refusal to provide a refund for the product.
Sweet Streets Desserts Inc., filed a lawsuit July 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Wrabacon Inc., a Maine manufacturing company.
According the filing, Sweet Streets Desserts entered into a contract with Wrabacon to design conveyors for its tray-loading line that processes baked goods in December 2013. The plaintiff alleges that the conveyors Wrabcaon installed in May 2014 had several problems such as mechanical failures, insufficient cutting and required excessive maintenance.
Sweet Streets alleges that the company paid a total of $163,594.58 for the cost of the conveyors, maintenance and spare parts and charges that Wrabacon breached its contract by failing to design the conveyors properly. The plaintiff is seeking judgement in its favor for damages of $163,594.58 plus attorney’s fees, interest and court costs. The company is represented by King of Prussia attorney Joseph Wolfson.
