A Levittown man is suing a potential employer, alleging disability discrimination.

Mark Ancharski filed a lawsuit Oct. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Highway Transport Chemical of Croydon, alleging the company violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by refusing to hire him because of his diabetes.

According to the complaint, during the company's hiring process in June 2014 the plaintiff's blood work showed he had diabetes and he sought out the proper treatment. The suit says the hiring supervisor at Highway Transport told him they would not hire him because of his diagnosis being "unmanaged."

Ancharski alleges this is untrue and a violation of his rights.

Ancharski seeks back pay, front pay and bonus of no less than $150,000, monetary compensation for insurance costs, punitive damages, legal costs and attorney fees, plus as any further relief deemed fit by the court. He is represented by attorneys Michael Murphy and Michael Groh of the Murphy Law Group in Philadelphia.

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania case number 2:15-cv-05585-ER.
