Chester County man claims negligence in ski resort incident

Ski

SCRANTON — A Chester County man is suing a motorist alleging negligence and carelessness for injuries suffered when his legs were pinned between two vehicles in the parking lot of a ski resort.

Lawton Laurence filed a lawsuit against Joseph Hoguet on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania citing negligence and carelessness.

On Jan. 4, 2014, Laurence was sitting on the tailgate of his parked vehicle in the overflow parking area at the Camelback Ski Resort when the front of Hoguet’s vehicle came in contact with his legs, which were hanging down his vehicle’s tailgate. His legs were subsequently pinned between Hoguet’s vehicle and his vehicle, causing significant personal injuries.

Laurence alleges that Hoguet did not have his vehicle under proper control at the time of the incident.

He is seeking an amount in excess of $150,000, interest, costs, delay damages and any relief the court may deem appropriate. Lawton is being represented by William J. Coppol of Ostroff Injury Law, PC in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
