A Vermont trucker is suing another trucker and the transport company who hired him in connection to injuries suffered during a two-vehicle crash in Franklin County.

Ashraf Mohamed filed a lawsuit against AH Transport Inc. and Alan L. Brown on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania to recover damages for personal injuries he suffered in a semitrailer crash, while parked in the off roadway network in Franklin County. The suit cites negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 5, 2013, Mohamed was parked at an off-roadway network sleeping in the cabin of his semitrailer when Brown, driving a semitrailer owned by AH Transport, hit the right side of his cabin. The impact caused Mohamed to be knocked off the cabin bunk and suffer injuries, according to the lawsuit.

Mohamed claims he incurred medical expenses of about $35,000 and suffered a loss of earnings in excess of $100,000. He seeks compensatory damages, cost and attorney's fees. He is represented by Scott B. Cooper of Schmidt Kramer PC in Harrisburg.
