Woman claims slip-and-fall injuries at Wal-Mart store

PHILADELPHIA – A woman is suing Wal-Mart over an alleged slip and fall at one of the retail giant’s stores in Philadelphia, where she claims she suffered various severe and permanent bodily injuries.

Sallie Flanagan field a lawsuit Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Wal-Mart Stores East, L.P. alleging negligence and carelessness.

On or about Jan. 9, 2015, Flanagan claims, she was shopping inside the Wal-Mart at 1675 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd., walking near the customer service counter, when she slipped on a beverage that had spilled on the floor, causing her to fall and suffer various severe as well as permanent bodily injuries.

Flanagan is seeking an amount in excess of $150,000 together with costs of suit, interest and reasonable attorneys’ fees.

Flanagan is being represented by attorneys Brandon A. Swartz and Bryan M. Ferris of Swartz Culleton, P.C. in Newtown.
