Man alleges company wrongly sued him after he sold business

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing Ichabod Ice, alleging the company brought a false lawsuit against him concerning an online business transaction.

Jason Batansky filed a lawsuit on Jan. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Ichabod Ice LLC, citing wrongful lawsuit and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 15, 2014, Batansky entered into an agreement with the defendant to sell the assets of his professional development web-based business with the domain name “Resume-to-Interviews.com." The plaintiff allegedly sold rights to the website domain name, online accounts, email accounts, and electronic data.

On Nov. 12, 2015, nearly a year later, the defendant allegedly sent a demand letter that claimed Batansky had breached the agreement and made fraudulent and/or reckless misrepresentations in connection with the sale, demanding payment of $225,050. The plaintiff claims he wrote a letter to dispute the allegations, but the defendant continued to push the allegations, which he claims are legally unsubstantiated.

Batanksy seeks a declaratory judgment stating that he properly executed the sale of his business to the defendant, attorney fees, and costs. He is represented by William B. Jameson of Spadea, Lanard & Lignana LLC, in Philadelphia.
