PHILADELPHIA — The federal government is suing Barry C. Gillins, a Philadelphia resident, citing alleged default in payment.

The United States of America filed a complaint on May 9 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Gillins alleging that he violated a loan agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered losses for not collecting a loan, plus interest, in the total amount $48,076.46. The plaintiff holds Gillins responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay his indebtedness.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount $48,076.46, plus a filing fee of $150, interest from the date of judgment, costs of suit and any judgment rendered in its favor from any debt accruing. It is represented by Thomas I. Puleo of KML Law Group PC in Philadelphia.
