HARRISBURG — A man is suing AMZ Manufacturing Corp., a former employer, citing alleged disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful or constructive eviction.

Kirk R. Sprenkle of York filed a complaint on May 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against AMZ Manufacturing Corporation alleging that the former employer violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, since June 27, 2013, he was subjected to adverse treatment and was terminated from employment for requesting reasonable accommodations. Due to the defendant's actions, he alleges he has suffered loss of wages and benefits, mental and emotional distress, inconvenience, humiliation and loss of enjoyment of life. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to accommodate him by allowing medical leave, retaliated against him and forced him to resign because he continued to complain, and considered his disability and/or perceived disability in forcing him to resign.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees and costs in excess of $100,000 or in an amount as thought reasonable and just, and any other fair and equitable remedy under the ADA. He is represented by Sandra Thompson of the Law Office of Sandra Thompson LLC in York.
