PHILADELPHIA — A couple's lawsuit against property owner Chul Seung Moon alleges negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Su Lee and Quita Syhapanya filed a complaint on July 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendant, alleging that the property owner allowed a ceiling to remain in a defective condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 9, 2014, Lee sustained physical injuries when a ceiling suddenly collapsed on her. The plaintiffs holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to inspect the condition of the premises to make sure  the ceiling was reasonably safe for tenants and invitees.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Richard A. Wolfe and Brad S. Tabakin of Tabakin Wolfe, LLP in Plymouth Meeting.
