Man says disability benefits were wrongly denied

PITTSBURGH — A man is suing Life Insurance Company of North America, claiming he was wrongly denied long-term disability benefits.

David P. Minnicks Sr. filed a complaint on July 26, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging that the insurance firm violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in September 2014, he became disabled as the result of symptoms from from several medical conditions, but his application for a disability claim was denied. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Company of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly denied his disability claims despite adequate medical evidence to support the claim.

The plaintiff seeks all benefits due under ERISA, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Brian Patrick Bronson of QuatriniRafferty, P.C. in Greensburg.
