PHILADELPHIA — An insurance firm and two insured parties are suing Electrolux Home Products Inc., a home appliances manufacturer, citing alleged failure to warn, liability and product liability.
Eries Insurance Exchange a/s/o Jamie Sundin and Kathleen Sundin filed a complaint on July 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Electrolux Home Products Inc. alleging that the home appliances manufacturer sold a defective product which that caused extensive damages to the Sundins' insured property.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 21, 2015, they suffered damages to the Sundins' property when a dryer ignited a home fire. The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly inspect its product for any defects that before selling it to consumers.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $150,000 plus any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Richard J. Boyd Jr. of de Luca Levine LLC in Blue Bell.
