PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing TransUnio, LLC and Experian Information Solutions Inc., citing alleged negligent misrepresentation by the credit reporting agencies.

John Carl Lemminn IV filed a complaint on July 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they reported false and derogatory statements regarding his credit history.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that since July 2015, he lost credit opportunities and has suffered harm to his credit reputation and emotional damages as the result of false statements being reported regarding his credit history to third parties. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly reported inaccurate information after mixing up his file with that of another person, John Carl Lemminn III.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Mark Mailman and Erin A. Novak of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
