Woman blames injuries on slippery floor

Slip01

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Target Stores Inc. and Target Corporation, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Joanne Edwards filed a complaint on Aug. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to keep the floor of their premises clean.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 20, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a substance that was on a store floor. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to remove any liquid substance on the floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Marc I. Simon of Simon & Simon, P.C. in Philadelphia.
