Marabell Truck employee caused collision, couple claim

HARRISBURG — A couple's lawsuit aginst Marabell Truck Corp. and its employee Yadiel Vega-Alvarez alleges negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Eric Scheirer and Doris Scheirer filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that Vega-Alvarez operated his truck below the minimum speed on an interstate highway without any marker lights, brake lights, taillights or emergency flasher.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 5, 2015, Eric Scheirer sustained severe physical injuries when his vehicle struck the rear of a dangerously slow moving truck. The plaintiffs holds Vega-Alvarez and Marabell Truck Corp. responsible because Marabell employee Vega-Alvarez allegedly failed to provide adequate warning signs on the rear of his truck.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus interest and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Marion K. Munley of Munley Law PC in Scranton.
