PHILADELPHIA — A licensed practical nurse and former employee has filed suit against her previous employer for allegedly failing to pay her overtime wages after she worked more than 60 hours per week.
Josephine A. Maurizi filed a complaint Aug. 12 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against 2509 South Fourth Operating LLC, doing business as St. Monica Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Center Management Group LLC, and Catholic Health Services LLC doing business as Catholic Health Group, alleging that they failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff for all her working hours.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between August 2014 and November 2015, she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages.
The plaintiff holds 2509 South Fourth Operating LLC, doing business as St. Monica Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Center Management Group LLC, and Catholic Health Services LLC doing business as Catholic Health Group responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premium to the plaintiff for all hours worked that exceeded 40 hours per week.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount equal to the benefits unjustly retained by the defendant, unpaid compensation, liquidated damages, plus interest and any further relief the court grants.
