Life Insurance Company of North America accused of improperly denying benefits

Insurance 02

PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing Life Insurance Company of North America, citing alleged breach of contract.

Margaret Mader filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging that the insurance firm wrongly denied her claim for ongoing long-term disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled due to a left frontal lobe ischemic stroke with expressive aphasia and accompanying symptoms and was initially being paid disability benefits until they were cut off on Oct. 1, 2015.

The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Company of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny her benefits despite her continuing disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks all relief to which she is entitled, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Brian Patrick Bronson of QuatriniRafferty, P.C. in Greensburg.
