Woman says Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston should pay her disability benefits

Insurance 01

PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston, citing alleged breach of contract.

Tamberlee L. Blumentritt filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston, alleging that the insurance firm improperly denied her application for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in July 2013, she became disabled due to several medical conditions and applied for long-term disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston responsible because the defendant allegedly denied her claim for disability benefits based on an incorrect assertion that she does not meet the definition of disabled.

The plaintiff seeks all relief to which she is entitled, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Brian Patrick Bronson of QuatriniRafferty, P.C. in Greensburg.
