Business owner accused of defamatory statement

PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania company and individuals are suing Donald D. Sbarra, a business owner, citing alleged defamation.

Marcellx LLC, David M. Prushnok, G. Daniel Prushnok and John P Prushnok filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Sbarra, alleging that the business owner made a defamatory statement against the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in July, they suffered damages to their reputation. The plaintiffs holds Sbarra responsible because the defendant allegedly made a defamatory statement claiming that the plaintiffs sold a stolen property.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus court costs, punitive damages and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Matthew T. Logue and James R. Thornburg of Logue Law Firm LLC in Pittsburgh.
