Lingrow wedding venue, others blamed in slip-and-fall case

Slip01

PITTSBURGH -- A married couple's lawsuit accuses Lingrow Farm Inc., David Metz and Ashley Schaffer-Metz and Michael L. Schaffer of negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Jesse A. Leuz and Amanda Leuz filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging they failed to properly keep the premises safe and free of any hazards.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 18, 2014, while attending a wedding at the Lingrow site that was arranged by the other defendants, Jesse A. Leuz sustained physical injuries when he slipped and fell due to the dangerous condition of a wooden deck. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the hazardous condition of the premises.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs.

They are represented by Edward J. Zanine and Adam D. Flager of Flager & Associates PC in Trevose.
