PITTSBURGH — A married couple's lawsuit alleges negligence in connection with a severe workplace injury.

Arnold Byrd and Tina Byrd filed a complaint on Oct. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Consolidation Coal Company; Consolidation Energy Company, aka CONSOL; CNX Coal Resources, L.P.; Strata Worldwide, L.L.C.; Caterpillar Inc.; RM Wilson Company; Thiele GmbH & Company KG; and KWS Inc., alleging that Arnold Byrd was not provided a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 28, 2014, Arnold Byrd suffered severe physical injuries when he suffered a severe groin injury. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to make sure that the equipment employees used was safe and free from any defects.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek general damages, punitive damage, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Michael J. Pisanchyn and Nicholas J. Indovina of Pisanchyn Law Firm in Pittsburgh.
