PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging breach of contract regarding disability benefits.
Kevin Hankins filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging that the insurance firm improperly denied his claims for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled due to several health conditions including lumbar spondylosis and other back problems and was initially being paid disability benefits until they were terminated in 2014. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly terminating his benefits despite his continuing disability.
The plaintiff seeks disability benefits to continue as long as he remains disabled according to the policy, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jason A. Newfield and Justin C. Frankel of Frankel & Newfield, P.C. in Garden City, New York.
