Liberty Mountain Resort, Snow Time accused of failure to warn of cliff

HARRISBURG — A married couple's lawsuit against Ski Liberty Operating Corp., d/b/a Liberty Mountain Resort, and Snow Time Inc., a resort, alleges negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Quan Vu and May Siew filed a complaint on Oct. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that the resort failed to provide proper warning regarding a ski slope.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 23, 2015, Vu sustained severe physical injuries from skiing off a cliff and into a large rock. The plaintiffs holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate warning to Vu regarding the unseen cliff.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages in an amount that exceeds $75,000. They are represented by D. Aaron Rihn and Mark D. Troyan of Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
