Woman says Prudential Insurance Company of America improperly denied benefits

Insurance 07

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Prudential Insurance Company of America, citing alleged breach of contract.

Kimberly Burke filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Prudential Insurance Company of America, alleging that the insurer wrongly denied her claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she became disabled and was initially paid disability benefits until they were terminated. The plaintiff holds Prudential Insurance Company of America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny her disability benefits despite her continuing disability.

The plaintiff seeks payment of all benefits due plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mary Le Mieux-Fillery of The Law Offices of Eric A. Shore in Philadelphia.
