Consumer alleges Trans Union lists her as deceased on credit report

PHILADELPHIA – A Carollton, Texas woman alleges a credit bureau has incorrectly marked that she is deceased on her credit report

Maria Socoro Rodriguez filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Trans Union LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., Equifax Information Services LLC violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages to her credit rating because of the defendant's incorrect reports. The plaintiff holds Trans Union LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., Equifax Information Services LLC responsible because the Trans Union has allegedly marked the plaintiff as deceased while Experian and Equifax have reported accounts and tradelines that do not belong to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Mark Mailman and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman PC in Philadelphia.
