University of Pittsburgh Medical Center accused of not paying invoices

PITTSBURGH — A medical device company is suing University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, alleging breach of contract.

Globus Medical Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against UPMC a/k/a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, alleging that the nonprofit corporation failed to pay monies owed to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Globus Medical Inc. suffered monetary damages as the result of not being paid for products and services the plaintiff provided. The plaintiff holds UPMC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay in full the invoices sent by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $419,356.30 plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by Andrew K. Fletcher and Victoria D. Summerfield of Pepper Hamilton LLP in Pittsburgh.
