PITTSBURGH — A patient is suing UPMC-Presbyterian; doctors Kristen Gruenther, James Irvine and Justin Arner; and nurse Victoria Johnson, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Shawn Matthew Muller filed a complaint on Nov. 11 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered several physical injuries including the loss of bladder and bowel control. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly evaluate his condition and evolving symptoms when he was hospitalized after a concrete slab fell on him at a job site.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the compulsory arbitration of this court. He is represented by Edward J. Ciarimboli, Gregory E. Fellerman, Kevin Clancy Boylan, and Harry P. McGrath, Jr. of Fellerman & Ciarimboli Law, P.C. in Kingston.
