Former maintenance man blames Republic Services, others for injuries

PITTSBURGH -- A former maintenance man for an apartment building is suing Republic Services Inc., Republic Services of Pennsylvania LLC and BFI Waste Services of Pennsylvania LLC doing business as Republic Services of Pittsburgh, alleging he was badly injured as a result of the defendants' negligence.

John Wesesky filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging they failed to properly maintain a trash compactor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, 2015 he fell while attempting to clear the compactor chute and suffered injuries including a rotator cuff tear, wrist and knee injuries, a compression fracture of the lumbar spine and other injuries.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to fix the compactor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of the arbitration limits of this court plus any further relief this court grants.
