PITTSBURGH -- A West Mifflin man is suing a Texas-based energy company, alleging that insufficient measures were taken to prevent his injuries.

Robert Gibson filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania Jan. 24 against E2 Energy Services LLC, claiming the Texas-based corporation allowed defective and unsafe conditions to exist on the premises.

According to the complaint, Gibson sustained physical injuries to his lower back and bilateral hips after being thrown out of a manlift while 20 feet in the air. The plaintiff holds E2 Energy Services responsible because he said the company should have known that the conditions on-site would cause the manlift to tip or fall, and the company failed to regularly inspect the premises.

Gibson requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Cynthia M. Porta-Clark of Porta-Clark Ward LLC in Pittsburgh.
