PITTSBURGH — A dancer has filed a class action lawsuit against a Pittsburgh gentlemen's club, alleging unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law, violation of state law, and violation of Workers' Compensation acts.
Nicole Morin filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated Jan. 27 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Mag Enterprises, Inc. doing business as Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club alleging the defendant failed to pay minimum wage to the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, Morin sustained monetary damages from not being adequately compensated for working as a dancer. The plaintiff alleges the defendant classified the plaintiff as an independent contractor in order to avoid paying her minimum wages and overtime wages along with collecting a portion of the tips Morin received from customers.
Morin seeks trial by jury, an injunction against the defendant, unpaid minimum wages, unpaid overtime wages, restitution, liquidated damages, court costs and all further relief this court grants.
