PHILADELPHIA — A West Grove man is suing Cavalry Portfolio Services LLC, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.

Richard Deckman filed a complaint on Jan. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Cavalry Portfolio Services alleging that the company attempted to collect an alleged debt from the plaintiff using deceptive methods.

According to the complaint, Deckman alleges that on Jan. 27, 2016, he sustained damages from being threatened for a debt he owed. Deckman holds Cavalry Portfolio Services responsible because it allegedly sent a collection letter to him containing deceptive and misleading representation concerning his alleged debt.

Deckman requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages in the amount of $1,000, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Michael P. Forbes of Law Office of Michael P. Forbes PC in Wayne.
