PHILADELPHIA — A Miami-area photographer is suing a national publisher with locations in Pennsylvania, citing alleged copyright infringement.

Jeffrey Greenberg filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Pearson Education Inc. alleging that the publisher made copies of his photographs that exceeded the license that the plaintiff had authorized.

According to the complaint, Greenberg alleges that he suffered damages from having his photographs used in a way that exceeds the permission originally granted. He holds Pearson Education responsible because it allegedly used his photographs outside of the scope of the license agreement.

Greenberg requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, actual damages, order the destruction of the unlawfully used photographs, court costs and any further relief this court grants.  He is represented by Maurice Harmon of Harmon & Seidman LLC in New Hope.
