PHILADELPHIA — A former ditch digger is suing employers Fermanagh Corporation and Edward Owens, employer, alleging violation of wage laws and retaliation.
Douglas Gangloff filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and retaliated against him for complaining about the violations.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was not properly compensated for overtime and that he suffered retaliation for bringing up wage law violations. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly penalized him for complaining about their unlawful wage practices.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reimbursement, benefits illegally withheld, liquidated damages, other damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Ari Karpf of Karpf, Karpf & Cerutti, P.C. in Bensalem.
