PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Scott & Associates PC, a debt collector, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.
Sondra Williams filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Scott & Associates PC, alleging that the debt collector violated certain provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act while attempting to collect an alleged debt from the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained damages from being sent a collection letter that contained deceptive and misleading information regarding her debt. The plaintiff holds Scott & Associates, PC responsible because the defendant allegedly used harassing and intimidating language in the collection letter sent to the plaintiff.
The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices, P.C. in Philadelphia.
