Pittsburgh couple allege house had defects that weren't disclosed

Contract 04

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh couple are suing a Washington County husband and wife, citing alleged breach of contract and fraud.

James C. Drakes and Lisa R. Drakes filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Jerome T. Cypher and Barbara V. Cypher alleging that they did not inform the plaintiffs of the damages to a property they were purchasing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they sustained damages from purchasing a property that has several defects, including a leak. The plaintiffs hold Jerome Cypher and Barbara Cypher responsible because they allegedly failed to disclose the problems with the roof and leakage when they sold the property to the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $35,000. They are represented by Alexander F. Guminski, and Brad N. Sommer of Sommer Law Group, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
