PHILADELPHIA — An artist is suing a recording studio, citing alleged copyright infringement.

Abby Sernoff filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Lizanne Knott and Morningstar Studios alleging that they copied plaintiff's art entitled "Ready for Balance."

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained damages from having her art used without her permission. The plaintiff holds Lizanne Knott and Morningstar Studios responsible because the defendants allegedly used the plaintiff's collage art on their CD cover.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $2,500, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Michael J. Brooks of Law Offices of Michael J. Brooks in Doylestown.
